How to Choose a Commercial Floor Scrubber

The right floor scrubber is the one that fits the site and operating routine—not simply the machine with the largest headline specification. Use this checklist to build a clear, comparable shortlist.

The right floor scrubber is the one that fits the site and operating routine—not simply the machine with the largest headline specification. Use this checklist to build a clear, comparable shortlist.

1. Measure the area and map the route

Estimate the cleanable floor area and note aisle width, turning space, ramps, doorways, elevators and obstacles. A large open warehouse may suit a ride-on model, while smaller rooms and narrow aisles often benefit from a walk-behind machine.

2. Describe the floor and soil

Record floor material, dust, oil, tracked-in debris, spills and how often the area is cleaned. Sweeper-scrubber configurations may be worth evaluating where dry debris and wet cleaning are both part of the task. Confirm brush and squeegee options for the actual floor.

3. Match the machine to the shift

Compare the published cleaning path, tank capacities, rated productivity, battery configuration and runtime for each candidate. Treat rated productivity as a comparison figure; real output depends on turns, obstacles, soil, operator practice and refill or charging arrangements.

4. Check serviceability and documents

Ask which consumables, wear parts, manuals, batteries and chargers are supplied. For imports, confirm destination-market electrical requirements and the exact conformity documents for the selected model before ordering.

5. Share a complete RFQ

Provide country, floor area, surface, soil, working hours, preferred machine type, quantity, battery needs and any private-label requirements. This gives the supplier enough context to recommend a model and prepare a comparable quotation.
